Weekend Beer Events - July 28-31

We're almost to the end of Michigan Craft Beer Month and over halfway through the summer (oops, I said it!), so it's time to make the most of what's left!  Get out and enjoy some of these great beer events going on this weekend.  Seth and I will be kicking off the last weekend in July by attending the 1st Semi-Annual "Weird Michigan" Beer and Food Exhibition at Shark Club in Howell tonight.  It's going to be a great chance to enjoy some of the rarest beers in the state, so we hope to see you there!



Thursday, July 28:

1st Semi-Annual "Weird Michigan" Beer and Food Exhibition
Time: 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Cost: No cover.  $1 4-oz tastes, special beer and food prices
Venue: Shark Club
Address: 1140 S. Michigan Ave, Howell, MI
Details: "Celebrate all that is weird, strange, unique and wonderfully Michigan. We will be featuring the most unique beer this state has to offer as well as its quintessential foods. Join us for Beer, Food and Trivia centered around weird Michigan facts and brewery facts. We will have a ton of giveaways and people from the industry to mingle with."

Cask conditioned ale tapping at Fort Street Brewery
Time:  8:00 pm to 2:00 am
Cost:  Varies depending on the beer
Venue:  Fort Street Brewery

Friday, July 29:

New Holland Brewing Co. Backyard Beer-B-Q
Time:  5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Cost:  No cover charge
Venue:  New Holland Brewing Co.

Details:  "Our Backyard Beer-B-Q Series is in full swing at New Holland Brewing Co. Restaurant & Pub! Saturday, July 30: 


3rd Annual Brew-Ha-Ha!

$5 Gets you the official Brew-Ha-Ha! souvenir mug and first beer.

Busch's Great Tastes of Michigan

Pig & Whiskey 
Time: 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm
Cost:  Free to attend, tickets necessary for food and drinks.
Venue:  Downtown Ferndale

Address: E. Troy Street between the WAB and The Emory
Details: "Metro Times is partnering with the Woodward Avenue Brewers (WAB) and the Emory to close E. Troy Street for this event and the event will be free to attend. Pig and Whiskey will be the premier regional barbecue event with a whiskey-drenched twist.

Whiskey and BBQ will be available to sample from 12-8 p.m. Live music begins at 5 p.m. and will end with the Detroit Cobras at 9:45 p.m. The beer tent will stay open through the entertainment! Pig and Whiskey is free to attend!"

Microbrew Tastings with The Traverse City Tall Ship Co.

Open Jazz Jam Session at HopCat

Details:  "Every Sunday night West Michigan's jazz artists and jazz fans will have a place to relax and hang and get together for an 'old skool' jam session at HopCat in downtown Grand Rapids. After the first set, competent musicians and serious jazz students will be invited to join the trio hosted by drummer Randy Marsh. There may be an occasional Organissimo sighting when Jim Alfredson is home off the road."
